After three years of pleasant and peacul academic researches about
rendering
techniques, Monte-Carlo methods, ray tracing and rasterization
strategies, I
decided to work for the video game industry.
This page is therefore dedicated to the work I did during the three
years of my
Ph.D. thesis. You will find here my Ph.D. thesis, the academic articles
I wrote
and the main project of this thesis, yaCORT, an interactive coherent
ray tracer
which implements several Monte-Carlo rendering algorithms: Instant
Radiosity,
Bidirectional Instant Radiosity, Metropolis Instant Radiosity and
Multiple-Try
Metropolis Light Transport.
By the way, we may also be interested by my recently opened blog at Bouliiii's Blog
Ph.D. Thesis
You can find my Ph.D. thesis, "Interactive Light Transport with Virtual
Point
Lights", here.
Current Projects
- YACORT
- GPL Implementation of the
OpenRT API
- Acoustic Material Characterization with a MCMC sampler
with Christophe
Heinkele
- The goal of this mini-project was to find the laws of
uncertain material parameters when you try to find its acoustic
properties. Basically, when you make an experiment, you try to
determine the response A of a material in function of the frequency
omega. Unfortunately, many parameters are uncertain and A = F(w) is
"not constant" and depends on a set of uncertain parameters X (which
includes w). Therefore, A = f(X) where X is an unknown random variable,
A is another random variable with a law p given by the experiments and
f is the physical model you choose for the phenomena. Our goal is to
find the law of X such that the law of f(X) is the law of A (which is
p). To solve this inverse problem, we propose to use a MCMC sampler to
directly sample X and therefore to compute its density with a final
non-parameteric estimation pass.
